All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Alexander Nathaniel Hilton Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m., at the Prewitts Chapel Baptist Church of Hornbeck, for Alexander Nathaniel Hilton, 83, who died Monday, Jan. 25, at 12:15 a.m., at the Baptist Hospital in Alexandria. The Rev. J. F. Lawrence officiated, and was assisted by the Rev. Robert Graham, the Rev. Willie Nolen, and the Rev. J. C. Leach. Interment was in the Prewitts Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Mr. Hilton was born in 1881, at Hineston, and moved to Hornbeck in 1900. He became a resident of Sabine Parish "Plainview Community" in 1913. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Merle Brown, Venton Coburn, A. J. Chance, Rickey Hilton, Larry Chance, and Michael Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Brown, Royal Coburn, Dee Stubbs, Douglas Chance, Donald Daniel, and Bobby Graham. Mr. Hilton is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ida Skinner Hilton; two sons, Alex N. Hilton of Hornbeck, and Dewey Hilton of Houston, Texas; five daughters, Mrs. Ellie Brown, Mrs. Hattie Coburn, Mrs. Audrey Chance, and Mrs. Joyce Chance, all of Hornbeck, and Mrs. Della Lawrence of Westlake; one brother, Martin Hilton of Hornbeck; three sisters, Mrs. Julie Brown, Mrs. Catherine Williams, and Mrs. Laura Withers, all of Hornbeck; 26 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
