Jessie Holmes

  Services for Mrs. Jessie Holmes, 89, were at 2:30 p.m.,
Thursday, Aug. 28, at the First Baptist Church in Hawkins, Texas,
where she was a member, Rev. Bill Holmes officiating. Burial was
in the Hawkins City Cemetery, under the direction of English
Funeral Home in Mineola, Texas.

  She died Tuesday, Aug. 26, at her daughter's residence, after a
lengthy illness.

  She was a native of Wood County, Texas.

  Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Davis, and Mrs.
Pearl Foster, both of Hawkins, Mrs. Mildred Steety, Snyder, Tex.,
Mrs. Mary Jo Salter, Florien, Mrs. Connie Bridges, Stonewall,
La., and Mrs. Thelma Reynolds, Big Springs, Tex.; three sons,
Barney Holmes, Jr., and Earl Holmes, both of Hawkins, and Ray
Thurman Holmes, Mineola, Tex.
