Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 16, at 12 noon, also at Winnfield Funeral Home, followed by her burial at Rosa Chapel Methodist Church on Hall Brake Road in Ajax. Mrs. Holland, 72, died surrounded by family on Friday morning, November 8, 2002, at her residence in Many. She earned a B.S. degree from Grambling State University, and a Master of Education degree from Texas Southern University, after which, she devoted her time and professional talents as an elementary educator in developing the potential of young people in the public school system for 31 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Holland; her parents, Johnnie and Malissa Sims; and her sister, Iva Lee Bryant. Mrs. Holland is survived by five children; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and a host of loving family members and friends.
