Hampton, 76, of Shreveport, were held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Revs. Garry Knighton, pastor, and Terry Dove, associate pastor of Church of Christ north, officiated. Burial followed in Forest Park, with Masonic graveside rites held. Mr. Hampton died on Feb. 11, 1997, at his residence, after a brief illness. He was born in Bossier City, and retired from Post Office Maintenance. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, World War II, and Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Cedar Grove Masonic Lodge. Mr. Hampton is survived by his widow, Jane L. Hampton, Shreveport; one son, E. Alan Hampton (wife Sue) of Shreveport; one daughter, Sharon Bailey (husband Carl) of McNeil, Ark.; one sister, Rose Hart, Converse; one brother, John S. Hampton, Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Eric Bailey (wife Christy), Heather Dowling (husband Shone), Ben Hampton, and Adam Hampton; seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Rodney Hendrickson, Ronald Hendrickson, David Martin, Bill Smith, Tim Core, and G. M. Stanford. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Willis-Knighton Hospice 5 West Staff, and a special thanks to Brenda Morris.
