Hancock, Jr., M.D. A memorial Eucharist for Charles D. Hancock Jr., M.D., was celebrated at St. John's Episcopal Church, May 30, at 5 p.m. The Reverend Paul D. Martin officiated. Dr. Hancock, a long time Minden resident, died on May 28, at Minden Medical Center, after a brief illness. He practiced pediatric medicine in Minden for 25 years, and was Webster Parish Coroner, at the time of his death. He was also a clinical instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at L.S.U. Medical Center in Shreveport. Dr. Hancock was born in Lake Charles, La., on March 26, 1930. He earned his bachelor of Science Degree at Tulane University, received his Masters degree from Northwestern State University, and was a graduate of Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans. A member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Dr. Hancock had served as a Vestry member, Senior Warden, Bethel Bible Teacher, Sunday School teacher, Lay Reader, Chalice Bearer, and had been a delegate to the Diocesan Convention numerous times. He is survived by his wife, Oneta Hodson Hancock of Minden; his mother, Mrs. Charles D. Hancock Sr. of Many, La.; one son, Kendall M. Hancock of Minden; one daughter, Allyson C. Hancock of Houston, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Bobbye Lafitte of Many, La.; and four nephews. Memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, Minden, La.
