Miss Verna C. Hinds

  Services for Miss Verna C. Hinds, 88, of Pleasant Hill, were
held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 20, at the Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church. The Rev. Gayle Dean officiated. Burial was at Ajax
Cemetery in Ajax, La., under the direction of Drewett Funeral
Home of Mansfield.

  Mrs. Hinds, a retried Pleasant Hill school teacher, and lifelong
resident of Sabine Parish, La., died Wednesday, March 18, 1987,
at Pleasant Hill General Hospital, after a lengthy illness.

  She is survived by a sister, Emma Lee Blue of Pleasant Hill, and
a host of nieces and nephews.

  Pallbearers were Charles Blue, Dean Brown, Roy Bush Bridges,
Harold Dillard, John Neal, and Hugh Hardee.
