Mr. Hinton was retired from the La. Dept. of Highways. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Aug. 14, at the Calvary Baptist Church, with the Revs. Olan Walters, H. H. Tibbitts, and N. P. Plunkett officiating. Burial was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Ina Mae Hinton of Many; two sons, Buddy, and Gordon Hinton, both of Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. C. R. Ferguson, and Mrs. Philip Prudhome, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. Alvin Warmack of Many; six brothers, George Hinton of Many, Homer Hinton of Robeline, Frank, and Walter Hinton, both of Natchitoches, Elbert Hinton of Jacksonville, Ark., and Oliver Hinton of Louann, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Richard Jordan of Robeline; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were Rudolph Self, Gerald Knippers, Gene Laurence, Dan Coates, Hoyt Hughes, and Joe DuBose.
