Rev. T. W. Barnes, and Rev. Jack Maxey officiated. The burial was at Sibley Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Rose-Neath's in Minden. He died on Oct. 1, in P and S Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Hunter, a native of Heflin, was a lifetime resident of Sibley. He was retired from the La. Dept. of Highways. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Hunter of Sibley; six sons, James M. Hunter of Shreveport, Virgil R. Hunter of Sarepta, Charles M. Hunter, Jr. of Dallas, Tex., Barney M. Hunter of Shreveport, Sammy M. Hunter of Sibley, and Rickey M. Hunter of Sibley; five daughters, Mrs. S. J. Guillot of Bossier City, Mrs. W. J. Parker of Sibley, Mrs. Sylvia Orstures of Magnolia, Ark., Mrs. Brenda Dale Vickers of Zwolle, Mrs. Lishia M. Butler of Sibley; four step daughters, Rita Sullivan of Houghes Springs, Tex., Teresa Diane Kelley of Sibley, Sheri Moe Goodwin of Leesville, Maxine Hunter of Sibley; one sister, Mrs. Mary Cox of Sibley; two brothers, Pratt Hunter of Haynesville, and Virgil Hunter of Sibley; twenty four grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The grandsons will be the pallbearers.
