All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Bessie Mae Hendershot Services for Bessie Mae Hendershot, 83, of Athens, were scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, at the United Pentecostal Church, with the Rev. O. W. Davis officiating. Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, at Noble Cemetery in Noble, under the direction of Foster and Brown Funeral Home. Mrs. Hendershot passed away Friday morning, after a lengthy illness. She was born April 19, 1909, in Noble, the daughter of Ambrose B. Parrott, and Ada Sarah Johnson. She moved to Athens in 1964. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Athens. Mrs. Hendershot was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hendershot in 1964; and her son, Johnny T. Derrick in 1969. Mrs. Hendershot is survived by two sisters, Clara Harrison of Athens, and Naomi Campbell of Arlington; and a host of nieces and nephews.
