Officiating was the pastor, Brother Joe Ratcliff. He was assisted by Bro. Ralph Hines of Wallace First Baptist Church. Interment was held at Wallace Cemetery in Pelican. Mrs. Haire passed away at her home on Toledo Bend, Saturday, July 31, 1993. She was a native of Pleasant Hill, and a resident of Texas City, Tex. For 33 years. She was a graduate of the University of Houston, and prior to her retirement was an elementary school librarian in Texas City. She was selected as the Texas City Independent School District Outstanding Teacher of the Year in 1981. She married Leo L. Haire on February 25, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Vivian Nickels, and Grace Cummings. Her survivors include a daughter, Patricia Louise Brown and husband Gerry of Universal City, Tex.; and a son, Edgar Leo Haire and wife Linda of Missouri City, Tex.; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, and Angela Brown, Matthew, Brandon, and Bryan Haire; two sisters, Cecil Walker of Shreveport, La., and Eleanor Rae Cottrell of Stonewall, La.; one brother, Andy Dossie Ross Jr. of Shreveport, La. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Many, at the time of her death. She was an active church member, and Sunday School teacher throughout her life. She was also a member of numerous civic organizations. Pallbearers were Kenny Brown, Merrill Cummings, Matthew Haire, Andy Dossie Ross III, Byron Savill, Terry Savill, Jay Schumann. Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Haire, and Bryan Haire.
