Harper, were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, in Natchitoches Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Winston Lowe, William Crouch, and Ralph West officiating. Burial was held in Florien Cemetery, under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Harper, 68, died at 7 a.m., Monday, in his home here. He was a native of Wayne, Kansas, and received his masters degree in science from Emporia State College, Kansas, in 1950. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a teacher, principal, and superintendent of schools for 40 years. He also served on the Board of Churches of the Nazarene in Sylvia, and Johnson, Kansas, and in Natchitoches. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Harper of Natchitoches; one son, Wesley Harper of Castle Rock, Colorado; one daughter, Mrs. Anita Griffin of Lake Oswego, Oregon; his mother, Mrs. Bessie Harper of Fowler, Kansas; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Green of Oakland, California, Mrs. Mary Ann Biddulph of Papua, New Guinea, and Mrs. Martha Walker of Fowler, Kansas; two brothers, Joseph Harper of Nampa, Idaho, and Paul Harper of Independence, Kansas; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Glen Ammons, Ricky Boyt, Houston Boyt, Jerry Larpenter, Weldon McClung, and Nolan Smith. Honorary pallbearers were E. C. Knippers, Imon Knippers, Douglas Knippers, Dorrell George, Muriel Durr, and Leonard Banz.
