Mrs. Irene Wells Harper

  Services for Mrs. Irene Wells Harper, 88, were held at 3 p.m.,
Thursday, Feb. 17, 1994, at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist
Church. Officiating was Rev. Roy Mouser, pastor of Pleasant Hill
United Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. Pat Cobb, pastor of
Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mansfield, Burial was in the Zion Rest
Cemetery near Pleasant Hill.

  Mrs. Harper, who resided with her brother, Albert, died Tuesday,
Feb. 15, at DeSoto General Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She
was a homemaker, and a member of the Pleasant Hill United
Methodist Church.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, Zachary Harper.

  She is survived by two stepsons, Z. L. Harper, and J. W. Harper,
both of Shreveport; three stepdaughters, Ione Webb of Shreveport,
Martiel LaCaze of Shreveport, and Jean Crenshaw of Marietta, Ga.;
one sister, Mrs. Mae Powell of Evelyn; four brothers, Roy Wells,
Albert Wells, Jesse Wells, all of Pleasant Hill, and Alvin Wells
of Mansfield; and a host of relatives.

  Nephews served as pallbearers.
