Harris, 76, of Shreveport, were held at 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23, at Osborn Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dr. James W. Taylor, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Emory C. Browne, John G. Cooke, C. H. Thurmond, Moss Thurmond, Charles Winslett, and Dr. Charles Black. Mrs. Harris was pronounced dead on arrival at Highland Hospital at 3 p.m., Wednesday, after a brief illness. A native of Converse, she had lived in Shreveport for 55 years, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Dr. E. Bryan Harris of Waco, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Buckley E. Qualls of Corpus Christi, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hamilton of Lafayette, and Mrs. Mattie McLeroy of Converse; a brother, Dr. Amos Litton of Ohio; eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
