All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Hollis Gene Harris Funeral services for Mr. Hollis Gene Harris, 55, of Many, were held Sunday, August 1, 1993, at 4 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill, with Rev. Joe Thibeau officiating. Interment was at the Spring Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Hollis was finally called to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 29, 1993, at 11 p.m., at Highland Hospital, after a long brave fight against cancer. Hollis retired from Amoco Oil Production, and was a farmer and cattleman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, La., Quarter Horse Breeders Association, and the La. Thoroughbred Breeders Association. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Johnson Harris; three sons, Hollis Gene Harris Jr. and his wife Jymann, Joe Peyton Harris and Jeffrey Clay Harris and his special friend Sonya Sistrunk, all of Many; one daughter, Gina Harris Sattler and her husband Pete of Belmont; one brother, Raymond Orel Cobb and his wife Pearl of Shreveport. Hollis was very proud of his ten grandchildren, Trey, Lacy, and Katy Harris, Brook, and Taylor Jeffres, Payton, Jed, and Jordan Harris, Madison Abraham Harris, and Allie Lois Sattler; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were his nephews. Honorary pallbearers were his employees of Amoco Production Oil Company.
