All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Girtha Harris (Photo) Services were held at 11 a.m., March 26, at Wayside Temple, for Girtha Lee Harris, 70, who died at 11:10 p.m., March 18, 1994, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment was at the Jerusalem Cemetery. Rev. Harris, pastor of Wayside Temple, officiated. A native of Fisher, Mrs. Harris was a resident of Many at the time of her death. She was a member of Wayside Temple Church. Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband, James Harris of Many; six daughters, Mrs. Opal Smith, and Mrs. Saundra Watkins of Illinois, Mrs. Janette Collin of Lafayette, Mrs. Edna Collier of Houston, Mrs. Annette McClanahan of Many, and Mrs. Juanita Flippen of Fort Hood, Tex.; four sons, Milton Harris, James D. Harris, and Terry Harris of Lafayette, and David Harris of Many; two granddaughters that she reared, Mrs. Pat Hooper of Pelican, and Sonya Harris of Florida; 32 other grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Faye Harris; and son, Ruben Harris; and father Gus Sweet.
