Mr. Heard was a machinist for Hughs Tool and Supply in Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was honored with Masonic graveside services at the cemetery. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19 at First Baptist Church of Converse with interment following at Oak Grove Cemetery in the Oak Grove Community. The Rev. Robert Hennigan, pastor of San Patricio Baptist Church, officiated and the Rev. Adrian Fairchild, pastor of First Baptist Church of Converse, assisted. Survivors include two sisters, Mary Opal Ammons and husband, Ellis of Baton Rouge and Erble Bloxom and husband, Purvis Wiggins of Converse; and a host of other family and friends.
