John Allen Heard

  Services for Mr. John Allen Heard, 89, were held at 10 a.m.,
Monday, December 7, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many.

  Mr. Heard died Friday, December 4, at Schumpert Medical Center,
after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Sabine
Parish.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. G.
Heard; his daughter, Willie Ethel Elvey; grandson, John Allen
Elvey; granddaughters, Kathleen Elvey, and Cindy Enterkin Heard;
and brother Douglas Heard.

  He is survived by his beloved wife of 65+ years, Virginia Ethel
Frantom Heard; one son, James D. Heard and wife Kay of
Shreveport; five daughters, Bonnie Burk and husband Henry of
Baton Rouge, Lucy Brown and husband Doyle Grant of Shreveport,
Jonnie Branam and husband Merel of Shreveport, Beth Cantrell and
husband David of Mandeville, and Linda Watts and husband Tom of
Shreveport; eighteen grandchildren, Charles Burk, Mike Burk,
Diane Pharris, Tommy Burk, Dennis Heard, Alan Heard, Stephanie
Heard, Billy Coplin, Mary Kathryne Boddie, Debbie Brown, Al
Grant, George Grant, Laura Branam, Wayne Branam, William Talley,
Kevin Cantrell, Jennifer Watts, and Sarah Watts; twenty one great
grandchildren, Cris, Lucus, Katie, Michael, Lindsey, Jennifer,
Jana, Brian, Dawn, Greg, Matthew, Maria, Bonnie, Jean, Paige,
Jamie, Cynthia, Jarad, Megan, Katy, Jessica, and Mandy; and one
brother, William Heard of W. Monroe.

  Pallbearers were his grandsons.
