Hardy (Photo) Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy S. Hardy, 72, were held on Thursday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m., in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating was Glenn Hardy, State Patriarch. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m., that afternoon, at the Old Bethel Cemetery near Natchitoches. Mrs. Hardy died on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Forest Hill, but had been a resident of Shreveport for 20 years. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her brother, Julius Scott. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Compton of Kilgore, Tex., Jenell Hardy of Galveston, and Gwen Solly of Shreveport; two sons, W. C. Hardy Jr. of Many, and Rickey Hardy of Elma, Washington; one brother, Olen Scott of Boyce; five sisters, Edith Walker of Pineville, Margaret Hammett, and Myrtle Blue, both of Natchitoches, Mildred Hardy of Robeline, and Thelma Edkin of Oneida, N. Y.; 18 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Pallbearers included W. C. Hardy Jr., Rickey Hardy, Weyman Compton, Eddy Compton, Justin Hardy, Wayne Hardy, Lynn Solly, and Harold Compton.
