Howard, 62, were conducted Wednesday, March 16, 1994, at 10 a.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Bossier City/Haughton. Interment was at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Officiating were Rev. Bobby Fowler, chaplain, Pilgrim Manor Nursing Center. Mr. Howard was born August 9, 1932, in Canton, Miss., and passed away March 10, at LSUMC, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Howard of Doyline; one son, Homer R. Howard Jr. of Beaumont, Tex.; two daughters, Debra Williams of Wallis, Tex., Jackie Sue Green of Fannett, Tex.; three stepsons, Jeff Erwin of Campti, Billy Erwin of Lufkin, Tex., Kenneth Erwin of Hornbeck; three stepdaughters, Kathy Martin of Leesville, Brenda Martin of Hornbeck, and Pauline Brack of Hornbeck; four brothers, Robert Howard of Beaumont, Tex., William Howard of Hillister, Tex., Harry P. Howard of China, Tex., and Leon Howard of California; 19 grandchildren; a large number of nieces and nephews; and many friends. He lived his life one day at a time, helping other people. Pallbearers were Doug Link, B. J. Reeves, Charlie Matlock, Roy Smith, Charlie Grant, and Sherry Hartsell. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Burk, and Danny Steadman.
