CW4 James D. "Jimmy" Heard

  Services for CW4 James D. "Jimmy" Heard, 59, were held Friday,
July 28, 1995, at 10 p.m., in Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel.

  Officiating was Father Larry Williams, pastor of St. Mark's
Episcopal Church. Interment was in Hill Crest Memorial Park of
Haughton, with full military honors.

  Mr. Heard died in Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport,
Tuesday, July 25, 1995.

  Mr. Heard was preceded by his parents, John and Virginia Heard;
one sister, Willie Ethel Elvey, and daughter-in-law, Cynthia
Louise Heard.

  Survivors include his wife, Mary K. Heard of Shreveport; two
sons, Dennis Heard and wife April of Bossier City, and Alan Heard
of Pineville; one daughter, Stephanie Heard of Shreveport; one
stepson, William Coplen and wife Margaret of Bristol, Conn.; five
sisters, Bonnie Burk and husband Henry of Zachary, Lucy Brown and
husband Doyle Grant of Longview, Texas, Jonnie Branam and husband
Merel of Shreveport, Elizabeth Cantrell and husband David of
Simpsonville, S. C., and Linda Watts and husband Tom of
Shreveport; mother of his children, Betty Sue Heard of
Shreveport; 8 grandchildren, Paige, Jamie, Cindy, Jared, Joseph,
Mike, Renee', and Megan; and a host of nieces and nephews.

  Pallbearers were Louisiana National Guard.
