Willard Heard

  Willard Heard, 53, a former Shreveport resident and native of
Converse, died Friday, May 27, of a heart attack in Houston, Tex.

  Funeral services were held Sunday, in Houston Park Baptist
Church, with subsequent services Monday, at 1 p.m., at First
Baptist Church in Converse.

  Officiating at the services will be Dr. B. R. Roach, pastor of
Converse Baptist Church, and Dr. Scott Tatum, pastor of Broadmoor
Baptist Church, and a cousin of Mr. Heard.

  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bessie Posey Heard of Houston;
his mother, Mrs. S. H. Heard of Converse; two brothers, Neal, and
Hamp Heard, both of Houston; and two sisters, Mrs. Wilson Paul of
Converse, and Mrs. Cedrick Ammons of Baton Rouge.
