John E. Heard

  John E. Heard, 86, of Converse, died in a Leesville nursing
home, following a lengthy illness.

  Funeral services were held Nov. 18, at 2:30 p.m., in the
Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

  Survivors are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. C. R. Nash of
Woodville, Tex., and Mrs. L. M. Russell of Freeport, Tex.; one
son, Rev. John C. Heard of Leesville; one stepson, Harvey Patrick
of Pineville; one step daughter, Mrs. Lucille Slaid of Clute,
Tex.; one brother, A. S. Heard of Mansfield; one sister, Mrs.
Ruth Magee of Converse; ten grandchildren; and 15 great
grandchildren.
