The Rev. Ray Wallace, pastor of Salem Baptist Church, and the Rev. Charles Hall, former pastor, officiated. Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park, under direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside chapel. Pallbearers were Edgar Lacobee, Mack Gaddy, Cecil Collins, James Barr, David Jenkins, Walter Jenkins, Pat Jones, and Jimmy Jones. The youth, a native of Converse, had lived in Stonewall most of his life. He was a member of the Salem Baptist church, 4-H Club, Future Farmers of America, and the Boy Scouts. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Horton of Stonewall; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Samuel H. Horton of Bryson, Tex.; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Effie Maddox of Shreveport; four sisters, Mrs. Carroll Shadow of Lufkin, Tex., Mrs. Janice Horton Lewis, Miss Terri Horton, and Miss Marsha Horton, all of Stonewall; and brothers, James Horton Jr., of Stonewall, and Michael Horton of San Raphiel, Calif.
