Hardin, 69, died at 9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, at his residence of a sudden illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 10 a.m., in the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at the Creel memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Byron Williams officiated. Mr. Hardin, a native of Many, resided in Kinder for the past 10 years. He was a retired carpenter, and served in the Pacific Theater with the U. S. Navy during world War II. Mr. Hardin is survived by his widow, Mrs. Vivian Hardin; two sons, Curtis and Jimmy Hardin; two daughters, Ms. Laverne Goodman, and Mrs. Gloria Ancell, all of Shreveport; three brothers, Thomas R., and James C. Hardin, both of Groves, Tex., and Archie Hardin of Cleveland, Tex.; six sisters, Mrs. Thelma Norris, and Mrs. Evie Denton, both of Groves, Tex., Mrs. Iva Caldwell of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Verline Long of Port Arthur, Tex., Mrs. Ida Fay Hale of Sulphur, and Mrs. Marie Dunnehoo of LeBlanc; and nine grandchildren.
