All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ** Margaret Elizabeth "Bessie" Horn Services for Miss Margaret Elizabeth "Bessie" Horn, 74, of Many, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 5, at the First Baptist Church of Many. The service was conducted by Rev. Joe Ratcliff, with solos by Charles W. Mason, accompanied by organist, Mrs. Joe Wallace. Burial was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Miss Horn, a retired school teacher, died at 3:30 a.m., Thursday, October 3, 1985, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Many, after a long illness. She began her teaching career in Fisher, La., in September, 1929, and taught in the Many school system until she retired on May 31, 1974. She owned and operated the Horn Insurance Agency, which she inherited from her father, Mr. Pearl Cleveland Horn. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Many, the Sabine Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Swepson Fraser of Many, Mrs. Nathan A. Hall of Virginia Beach, Va., and Mrs. Andrew B. McMillan of Birmingham, Ala., and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Pallbearers were George J. Boyens, Robert Ammons, Leslie Lites, Fred Fraser; and her nephews, Bruce Fraser, and Drew McMillan; and great nephews, Blair Drummond, and Bruce Fraser, Jr.
