Mrs. Mary Evelyn Peacock Herring

  Services for Mrs. Mary Evelyn Peacock Herring, 70, of Grand
Cane, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Apr. 1, at the Drewett
Memorial Chapel in Mansfield. Dr. William Crosby, and Dr. George
A. Ritchey officiated. Burial was in Zion Rest Cemetery near
Pleasant Hill.

  Mrs. Herring died Monday, March 30, 1987, at Schumpert Medical
Center in Shreveport.

  She is survived by her husband, Richard Herring of Grand Cane;
four sons, James R. Herring Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla., Charles
R. Herring of Laurel, Miss., Billy R. Herring of Grand Cane, and
Edward R. Herring of Duncan, Okla.; one daughter, Mrs. Frances
Lovitt of Many; one brother, Clarence Peacock of Mansfield; two
sisters, Mrs. Ida Matthews of Grand Cane, and Mrs. Ada Boone of
Bossier City; 11 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
