Alonzo C. Herrington

  Mr. Alonzo C. Herrington, 97, of Florien, died June 20, 1987, at
7:15 p.m., at Sabine Medical Center in Many.

  Services were held at Middle Creek Baptist Church, on Monday,
June 23, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Owen Loftin, and Rev. Leroy Cehanks
officiating. Burial was at Middle Creek Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Survivors include five sons, J. C. Herrington of Leesville,
Kermit Herrington, Willie Herrington, Norman Herrington, and
Dalton Herrington, all of Florien; three brothers, Tom
Herrington, and Cy Herrington, both of Hot Springs, Ark., and
Woodrow Herrington of Florien; one sister, Ellen McGee of
Hemphill, Tex.; 15 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and
numerous great-great grandchildren.

  Mr. Herrington was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Nannie
Gandy Herrington, and by a daughter, Jewel Brister.

  Pallbearers were Billy Herrington, Ronnie Herrington, Marvin R.
Hilton, Horace Herrington, Larry Herrington, Gerald Thaxton, John
Skinner, and Kevin Herrington.
