Mrs. Laura Virginia Herring

  Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Virginia Herring, 88, of Homer,
were held at 2 p.m., April 21, 1995, at the Homer Rose-Neath
Chapel.

  Dr. Jimmy Simeon officiated. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery.

  Mrs. Herring died April 19, at the Sabine Medical Center in
Many. She was a nurse's aide at the Homer Memorial Hospital, and
a member of the First Baptist Church in Homer.

  Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by her husband and father of
her children, Van Alsbrook Sr.; and daughter, Mavis Exie Austin.

  Survivors are one son, Van Alsbrook Jr. of Noble; one daughter,
Louise Sweeny of Noble; one great granddaughter, B. J. Sweeny of
Noble; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one
great-great grandchild.
