Henry, known as Jack to most of his family, proudly served his country in the occupation of Germany and during the Korean War 1953-1955 in the 2nd Infantry Regiment; “Second to None” out of Camp Polk which is now Ft. Polk. Most of Henry’s life was as a hard working truck driver known as “Dubbl Oh” on the CB radio, coast to coast. He began trucking early in life and continued until retirement. The phone started ringing for him to fill in driving, he happily obliged. He started driving pretty much full time hauling logs, his favorite. He developed many friends over the years, truck drivers, woods crews, mill workers, ect. After his granddaughter, Krista, was born, he developed a special care for children, especially those with special needs. After Alzheimer’s took full effect he had to be put in special care. Very reluctantly, his wife and family put him in the Nursing Home. His many friends continued asking about him up to his last day. A very special thanks to each one! His family would like to offer a very special than you that words can’t express to the management, staff, nurses and aides of Sabine Retirement & Rehab and Superior Hospice for the care and concern for him. We also want to specially mention one of his granddaughters, Krista, and her extraordinary car for her PawPaw and Nana throughout all this time. She’s a real-life “Wonder Woman” and means so much to us. We love you and thank you very much. He became a Christian early in life, being baptized in a Baptist church in Joplin, Mo. in 1959. As many times happens, he wandered away from God. Through prayer and visits from Bro. Wesley Jackson, he returned to fellowship with God at Siloam Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Oak Hill Baptist Church with Bro. E.E. Walker as pastor in 1989. Henry started witnessing to many people from that day forward. He developed a special friendship with Bro. Joey Williams while he served as pastor at Oak Hill. Henry will be missed, but what can be better than Heaven. Pallbearers were Kevin Cheatwood, Mike “Cheeto” Robertson, Danny “Running Bear” Procell, Larry “White Knight” Maxey, Shane “Stormy” Mitchell, Paul McCormic, Tommy Hill and Jeremy McCormic. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Horn, Josh Horn and Thomas Hill.
