Isgitt, 76, of Converse died Sunday, Feb 21, following an extended illness. Survivors include his widow, of Converse; two daughters, Mrs. N. S. Parscal of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Milton Murphy of Nederland, Tex.; three sons, Percy and H. T. Isgitt, Jr., both of Houston, and Kenneth A. Isgitt of Sulpher; a brother, Ben Isgitt of Zwolle; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The Rev. was active in the ministry for 55 years, mayor of Converse 12 years, and was a former member of the school board of Sabine Parish in Ward 6. His body was taken to the Converse First Baptist Church at noon on Monday, Feb. 22, to lie in state until service time at 2 p.m. The Rev. J. C. Rousseaux officiated at the services, assisted by the Rev. Jack Byrd. Burial was in the Converse Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were his nephews, and honorary pallbearers were; Judge Pickett, John Pickett, Jr., Johnny Balke, J. B. Vandegaer, Sid Evans, Willie Williams, Dr. Donald Taylor, T. M. Phillips, and Sheriff Harold Sandel.
