Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 3, at Kelly-Hixon Funeral Home in Beaumont, with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. He had lived in Beaumont 52 years, and was a retired telegraph repeaterman for Southeastern Bell. He was the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John W. Pilcher of Ricknor, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Jacks (Flara Nell Pilcher), also of Ricknor. Survivors include his widow, Flaye Jacks of Beaumont, Tex.; one daughter, Judith Ann Sauford of Vidor, Tex.; one brother, Douglas Hanson Jacks of Bronson, Tex.; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Relatives surviving in this area are Carl Pilcher, Mrs. Ethel Gandy, Randall Pilcher, Mrs. Ethel Gandy, Randall Pilcher, Mrs. Otis Gandy of Many, and Mrs. Thelma Love of Mansfield.
