All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Jennie Sweet Joseph Mrs. Jennie Sweet Joseph was born March 20, 1871, to Mr. and Mrs. Ben Sweet in Many. Mrs. Joseph was united in marriage to James Samyel Joseph. To this union were born 12 children, seven of which preceded her in death. She moved to Oklahoma in 1907, and united with the Salem Baptist Church in 1909, where she remained an ardent member, and a dedicated worker until she grew too feeble in 1975. Monday morning, April 24, at 6:30, the Master said "Enough done". Duties here on earth being completed after 107 years, 1 month, and 4 days, she bade the world goodbye. Her immediate survivors are one son, Rev. H. C. Joseph, Jones, Okla.; one step son, O. C. Joseph, Omaha, Nebraska; four daughters; Eliza Motley, Anna Tyson, Frances Davis, and Alrena Tipton, all of Oklahoma City; five daughters-in-law, twenty-five grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren, twenty three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Dave Sweet of Luther, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Some of her nieces and nephews of Sabine Parish include Mrs. Merrindy Cross, Mrs. Beulah Lee, Mr. Ben Sweet, Mr. Jack Sweet, Mr. Gus Sweet, and Mrs. Ida Mae Hills.
