The Rev. W. D. "Step" Martin, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Forest Park West Cemetery. Mr. Jacobs died Wednesday, Aug. 8, in the LSU Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. The retired farmer was a native of Pleasant Hill, and had lived in Shreveport for 29 years. He is survived by his widow, Ruby Lee Jacobs; four sons, Lonnie Jacobs, Tommie Ray Jacobs, and James Jacobs, all of Shreveport, and Billy Ray Jacobs, of Landsind, Kan.; five daughters, Sherry Jacobs, and Kathy Dickerson, both of Shreveport, Mrs. Bud Jordan of Keithville, Mrs. Don Dickerson of Longview, Texas, and Mrs. Dan Clark of Houston, Texas; two brothers, John Jacobs, and Curley Jacobs, both of Pleasant Hill; two sisters, Annie Stutts, and Merritt Jamison, both of Pleasant Hill; and 23 grandchildren. Pallbearers were George Jordan, Joe Liendecker, DeWayne Slay, I. L. Slay, Dennis Slay, and Jewell Slay.
