Jacobs, Sr. - September 20, 1973 John M. Jacobs Sr., 62, died Friday, Sept. 14, in Shreveport following a long illness. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Stevenson officiating. Burial was in the Springridge Cemetery under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow; six sons, John Melvin Jacobs Jr. of Fort Smith, Ark., Joe Cecil Jacobs and Johnny Ray Jacobs both of Pleasant Hill, James W. Jacobs and Lewis Jacobs, both of Marthaville, and Wayne Jacobs of the U. S. Army in Hawaii; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Freeman of Mansfield, Mrs. Mary Barnes of Shreveport, Mrs. Barbara Jean Binning and Janet Marie Jacobs, both of Pleasant Hill; three brothers, John William Jacobs of pelican, Ben Jacobs of Shreveport and Cully Jacobs of Pleasant Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Stutts and Mrs. Myrte Jamerson, both of Pleasant Hill; and 15 grandchildren.
