All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** John Henry Jacobs, Sr. A dog yard fence charged with electricity was the apparent cause of the death of John Henry Jacobs Sr., 70, of Converse, during Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, July 26. Jacobs was found by his wife about 8:30 a.m., Thursday. Coroner City Marshall Guy Snelling, and Sheriff Deputies Travis Bennett, and Floyd Terrell investigated. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 29, at 2 p.m., in the Converse Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack Byrd officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jerry Schmucker. Burial was in the Converse Cemetery, under the direction of the Drewett Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife; two sons, John H. Jacobs Jr. of Washington, D. C., and Stephen Jacobs of Converse; three daughters, Mrs. Sara Waynne of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Dora Moss of Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. Cora Allen of Elks Hart, Ind.; and 12 grandchildren; two brothers, C. D. Jacobs of Shreveport, and H. W. Jacobs of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Valerie Womack of Shreveport.
