Jackson died at his home in Beaumont, Texas, last Thursday morning and was interred at 2 p.m. Friday at Leesville. Mr. Jackson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lizzie Petty Jackson and five children, John, Mary, Maud, Alice and W. M. Jackson, Jr. Coming to Sabine parish about 1900 Mr. Jackson was employed employed by sawmills at Loring and Zwolle, later at Robeline. In 1905 he married Miss Lizzie Petty, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Petty of Many and entered, the same year, sawmill business at Bayou Scie, and later on owned and operated a wagon factory at Zwolle, followed a few years later by being identified with the late J. R. Buvens and Dory Davis in the "Wet and Windy" mill near Many, after which he moved to Leesville and was engaged in sawmill and mechanical work in Texas until his death. Those from Many attending the funeral were M. V. Petty, T. V. Small and Miss Lois Addison.
