Jackson 30 Dec 1938 - The last rites for Mrs. G. L. Jackson, age 67, years, were held Sunday, Christmas Day. Mrs. Jackson expired at the family home near Many Saturday, December 24 at one o'clock after a long illness. The funeral services was held at the Methodist church at three p.m. Sunday, December 25, with Rev. L. N. Hoffpauir officiating, assisted by Rev. J. B. Williams. Interment in the Many cemetery. Active pallbearers: Jack and Kenneth Stephens, Buford Stephens, Louis and J. T. Chisholm and Tom S. Stephens. Surviving relatives: seven daughters, Mrs. T. J. Chisholm, Mrs. T. E. Stephens, Mrs. J. E. King, Mrs. W. J. Perkins, Mrs. C. G. Kilgore, Mrs. G. M. Langford and Miss Carro Jackson; also three sons, R. B., F. V. and J. C. Jackson, and one brother, J. C. Presnell. Mrs. Jackson was born and reared in Sabine parish, having been the daughter of the late John and Kate Caldwell Presnell. She was married in 1888 to George L. Jackson, assessor of Sabine parish until his death in 1921, and to them were born ten children who survive, Mrs. Jackson was a life-long member of the Methodist church. Her family has long been prominent in the political, social, business and church affairs of this place, where many relatives and friend mourn their loss.
