Jackson 29 May 1959 - Robert B. Jackson, 65 year-old prominent Many resident and former Sabine Parish tax assessor, died Tuesday, May 26 of a heart attack. Mr. Jackson, a veteran of World War I was a member of the Masonic Loge in Many, was elected parish tax assessor in 1920 and was re-elected and served continually in that post until his retirement in 1956. He was a member of the First Methodist church of Many and was also a stockholder and member of the board of directors of the Sabine State Bank and Trust Co. of Many. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 28 at 10 a.m. in the First Methodist church Many and burial will be in Many cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Mary Lee Jackson; sons, Maj. George D. Jackson of Ft. Riley, Kan., and Keith V. Jackson of Blanchard; two daughters, Miss Mary Pearl Jackson, a student at LSU and Miss Roberta Lee Jackson of Many; brother, Fred B. Jackson of Converse, Jim Jackson of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Kate Chisholm of Shreveport, Mrs. James E. King and Mrs. G. M. Langford, both of Houston, Mrs. T. E. Stephens and Mrs. Carl Kilgore both of Beaumont, Mrs. W. J. Perkins and Mrs. S. M. Taylor, both of Many and six grandchildren.
