Alvin H. Jett

  Services for Mr. Alvin H. Jett, 76, of Many, were held at 10:30
a.m., Thursday, December 31, 1992, at the First United Methodist
Church of Zwolle, with the Rev. Walter Parr Jr. officiating.
Interment was held in the Fond-Dulac Cemetery in East Peoria,
Illinois.

  Mr. Jett died Tuesday, December 29, 1992, at Schumpert Medical
Center in Shreveport, La. He was born on January 17, 1916 in
Donnellson, Illinois, to Callie and Otto R. Jett. He married
Edith Cathlene Allen on February 19, 1938, in Peoria, Illinois.
He retired with 31 years of service from Caterpillar, Inc. in
1972. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of
Zwolle. He was a trustee and former administrative board
president. He previously owned and operated the Jett's Cottages
Resort on Toledo Bend Reservoir for seven years.

  Mr. Jett is survived by his wife, Cathlene Jett of Many, La.;
one son, Sheldon R. Jett of Matoon, Illinois; one daughter, Donna
Cothrell of East Peoria, Illinois; one brother, Nelson Jett of
Joliet, Illinois; three grandchildren; two nieces; and one
nephew.

  Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of
Zwolle, La., or the Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, La.
