Velma L. Jett

  Funeral services for Mrs. Velma L. Jett of Florien, were held at
the First Baptist Church of Florien, on Friday, Sept. 24, at 4:30
p.m. The Rev. Mack Brister, and the Rev. Wilton Anthony
officiated. Burial followed in the Prewitt Chapel Cemetery, under
the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mrs. Jett died at Willis-Knighton Hospital in Shreveport, at
6:40 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 23.

  She is survived by two daughters, Jerry Holder of Florien, and
Clare Anthony of Shreveport; one son, Jonah Jett of Shreveport;
one sister, Verda Barrins of Lake Charles; one brother, Garland
Leach of Kilgore, Tex.; four grandchildren; four great
grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
