Jones, 58, of Hornbeck, died Thursday, July 1, in Many Hospital, following a long illness. Mr. Jones had been a farmer and carpenter, but had been disabled for a number of years preceding his death. He was a lifelong resident of the Plainview Community, and a member of the Plainview Baptist Church. He recently was awarded a twenty-five year membership certificate by the Toro Lodge No. 253, F. & A. M., of which he was a past master, and served for many years as secretary. He was also a member of Katherine B. Chapter No. 31, OES, and a Robeline Chapter No. 63 Royal Arch Masons. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, in the Plainview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Huey Haymon officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ken Goode. Pallbearers were; Victor Lindell Ellzey, Malcolm Cole, Lavell Cole, Teviss Slaughter, Edward Brown, and Dan Volk. Burial was in the Pruett's Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors are his widow; three sons, Wayne Jones of Hornbeck, The Rev. Lynn Jones of Burkeville, Tex., and Rickey Jones of Anacoco; his stepmother, Mrs. Oma Jones of Hornbeck; a brother, E. D. Jones of Benton; two half-brothers, S. P. Jones of Tulsa, Okla., and Mixon Jones of Hornbeck; a sister, Mrs. Fourthie Cole of Hornbeck; two half-sisters, Mrs. Edna Mitternight of Lake Charles, and Mrs. LaVerne Parlee of Benton; and one grandchild, Leah Darlene Jones.
