R. W. Gordon, pastor of Caddo Heights Baptist Church, and the Rev. Marvin E. Brown, pastor of Plainview Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Prewitt's Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck. The youth died Wednesday at his residence of a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Shreveport police. A native of Houston, Tex., Jones had lived in Shreveport since 1969. He was a seventh grade student at Linwood Junior High School, and a member of Caddo Heights Baptist Church. Surviving are his father, Thomas D. Jones of Shreveport; his stepmother, Mrs. Sandra Jones of Shreveport; his mother, Mrs Betty Marie Kunzler of Aurora, Colo.; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Edlemon of Houston, Tex.; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lillie Vercher of Dallas, Tex.; step grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Brown of Hornbeck; two brothers, David, and Jessie Eugene Jones, both of Aurora; and two sisters, Tammy Sue Jones of Shreveport, and Helen Denise Jones of Aurora. Pallbearers was Ray Garrett, Bobby Gordon, Bill Brown, Rob Brown, Charles Lofton, Lamar Dearing, Gary Harris, and Greg Maxwell.
