Ruth B. James

  Services for Mrs. Ruth B. James, 80, of Shreveport, were held
at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 30, at Rose-Neath's Marshall
Street Chapel. Rev. J. M. Cason, pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly
of God, and Rev. Windy Wingate, pastor of Laurel Heights Baptist
Church, officiated. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.

  Mrs. James, born in Claiborne Parish, and a resident of
Shreveport for 39 years, died at 2:35 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28,
1982, at Willis Knighton Medical Center, after a lengthy illness.
She was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church.

  She is survived by her husband, Pat James of Shreveport; sons,
Billy W. Acklin of Houston, Tex., and Millard Acklin of Zwolle;
daughter, Mrs. Sherry Shirey of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Mrs. Bertha
Bush of Shreveport; brothers, Vernon Blackwell of Doylin Ruben
Blackwell of Ruston; 12 grandchildren.
