Jones (Photo) Funeral services were held at First United Methodist Church, for Thomas Junius Jones, 68, who died at his residence. Burial followed at Woodlawn Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Verdie Morgan Jones; two sons, Thomas Michael Jones of Crowley, and Steven Kent Jones of Rayne; two daughters-in-law, Agnes Habetz Jones, and Margaret Stelly Jones; five grandchildren, Brady Michael Jones, Michelle Anna Jones, Brent Michael Jones, Jerrilyn Ashley Jones, and Brittney Layne Jones; thirteen foster children; two adopted daughters, Nancy Tatum, and Nelda Henry; four sisters, Rita Duplan, Maggie Mendoza, Barbara Trahan of Patterson, and Patricia Bel of Niangua, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas August; and mother, Ethel Aucoin Jones; and one sister, Mary Jane Jones. He was a native of Morgan City, and a resident of Crowley, presently residing at Toledo Bend Lake. He was a member of Zwolle First United Methodist Church, Home Rebecca Lodge, and Oddfellows of Crowley, a life member of the Disables American Veterans of Toledo Bend, and Toledo and Beulah Retirees. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. Celebrants were Rev. Eddie Morgan Jr., and Rev. Walter Parr. Pallbearers were Brady Jones, Brent Jones, Carroll Morgan, Tracy Morgan, Joe Steele, Norman Mendoza, John Allen Duplan, and Jim Bel. Geesey Ferguson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
