Dale James, beloved wife of Phil James, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at Scottsdale North Hospital, of complications from rheumatoid arthritis and pneumonia. She was born in Pleasant Hill, and graduated from Northwestern State University. She taught school in Louisiana and Texas. She and Phil were married in Orange, Texas, nearly 47 years ago. They were sent to Phoenix from Dallas 26 years ago, as Phil pursued a career with the Chevrolet Division of General Motors Corp. In Phoenix, she was a former member of AAWV, and the ARCS scholarship foundation. She is the Chairman's Circle as a Guardian Member of the Phoenix Zoo, and they are members of Camelback Golf Club. Until recently, they had a summer home in Pinetop, and were members of White Mountain Country Club, and are members of the Pinetop Presbyterian Church. Besides Phil, she is survived by a brother, Guffey Lynn Pattison and wife Carol Pattison of Pleasant Hill; sister, Wyville Litton and husband Jack of Shreveport; and niece, Jaclyn Litton of Shreveport.
