Eugene J. Jones

  Eugene J. Jones of Many, was struck and killed instantly, as he
was walking down San Antonio Ave. West in Many, Sunday morning,
about 4 a.m.

  He was struck by a car driven by Robert F. Blackwell, 33 of
Negreet. Blackwell told investigating officers, that as he was
going west on San Antonio, two cars with bright lights had just
passed him, and when he looked again, Jones was in the middle of
the road. He stated he could not avoid hitting him.

  Blackwell has been charged with driving while intoxicated,
having expired drivers license, and negligent homicide.

  The investigating officers were Marshal George Cook, and Deputy
Marshal Travis Bennett.
