Freedom community Aug. 21. Funeral rites were conducted at Mt. Freedom Baptist church church by Rev. Frank Laurence, assisted by Rev. W. M. Greer. Interment was in Mt. Freedom cemetery under direction of Massingill funeral home. Pallbearers were: Frank Veuleman, J. O. Smith, Gather Dees, Tom Rivers, Leo Bush, W. H. Brumley. Surviving are: daughter, Mrs. Zula Rivers, Many; two sons, J. D. Johnson, Many, and C. H. Johnson, Shreveport; a sister, Mrs. Laura Parker, Many, two brothers, Willie DeBose, Shreveport, and John DeBose of Oak Hill community; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was well known in Sabine parish, being a charter member of Mt. Freedom Baptist church. She had served the Lord for 57 years and will be greatly missed by her many friends and loved ones.
