The Sabine Index - V. T. Johnson

  18 Feb 1949 - Funeral services for V. T. Johnson, 65, who
died at Carkern clinic, Natchitoches, after a month's illness,
were held at Many Methodist church 3 p.m. Tuesday by Rev.
Cleburne W. Quaid, pastor, assisted by Rev. Charles S. Miers,
pastor First Baptist church, Many. Interment followed in
Marthaville cemetery under direction Massingill funeral home.

  Pallbearers were Harry Mims, Van Vines, Marshall Petty, C. D.
Hancock, Eugene Dees and J. T. Dees, Jr.

  Surviving relatives include he widow, Mrs. Thelma
Rains Johnson, Natchitoches, and a son, Joe W. Johnson,
Brownsville, Texas.

  Mr. Johnson was in the shoe repair business at
Natchitoches, having moved there from Many about four months ago.
Prior to embarking into the shoe repair business, Mr. Johnson was
employed by Dennis-Green funeral home in Many and subsequently by
Massingill funeral home after the latter acquired the former.
