Johniken, 84, of Frierson, were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 2, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel in Shreveport. The Rev. Larry Dunn, Baptist minister of Mansfield, officiated. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Frierson. Mr. Johniken, a resident of Frierson since 1942, and the retired owner of Johniken Mercantile 33 years, died at 6 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 1983, at his residence, after a long illness. He was Baptist. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Johniken; one daughter, Mrs. Billie Jean Evans; and three grandchildren, Carolyn Rister, Donna Evans, and Ray Evans of Frierson; two half sisters, Mrs. Lillie Shankman, and Mrs. Estis Dunn of West Monroe; and two half brothers, G. L. Williams, and Arion Williams of Converse. Pallbearers were L. C. Evans, Orin Lowery, Elmer Carr, W. L. Prudhome, Pat Cavanaugh, Gerald Brown.
