La. He departed this life, Wed. March 27, 1985, at 9:05 p.m., in the home of his beloved sister, Mrs. Annie Ruth Williams. He united with the Church of Cod in Christ at an early age, in Florien, under the leadership of Elder Harrison West. Later he united with the Wayside Temple Church. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Mrs. Ardella Newton Johnson of Houston, Texas; six sons, Mack Larry of Florien, Alfred, Juan Cartreal, Cedrick, Reginald, and George, all of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Sharon of Texas, Dronda, and Venessa, all of Houston, Texas; a living mother, Mrs. Ressie Johnson of Florien; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Ruth Williams of Florien, and Mrs. Beatice Weaver of Sacramento, Calif.; one brother, Mr. Leroy Johnson; fifteen grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, at the Wayside Temple Church of God in Christ in Many. Elder Jack Harris, Jr. officiated. Interment was at the Pilgrim Star Cemetery, with Winnfield Funeral Home of Natchitoches directing. Active pallbearers were family and friends. Honorary pallbearers were sons and nephews.
